The Houthis —to nobody’s surprise— never fully committed to the terms of the truce despite international and regional efforts to make it happen. It was for most of the six past months one-sided, causing the death of 96 civilians during the “truce”. Whereas the internationally recognized government has significantly improved life for Yemenis and didn’t resort to violence in response to truce violations by the Houthis.
Hodeidah ports:
The legitimate government opened Sanaa’s international airport which has been closed since 2016 to more than 13,000 passengers to fly directly from Sanaa to Amman and Cairo.
The legitimate government also stopped all military escalations.
Taiz siege:
The truce failed to convince the Houthis to open lift the Taiz siege, the main roads have been blocked since 2015, forcing people to use other unmaintained roads in and out of the city. Those old roads are meant for camels and aren’t suitable for travel
Civil service salaries:
The militia never paid their employees and used revenues from ports to expand military centers.
